SKILLS CLASSIFICATIONS

Staff we place fit into the following skill classifications:


WAIT STAFF

Banquet Waiter
Has basic skills, is able to carry 3 plates, serve and clear, open wine bottles and takes direction from a Supervisor.

Boardroom Waiter
Is multi-skilled in all facets of waiting and has the experience to work alone, unsupervised. Able to liaise with clients directly.

Supervisor
Has the skills and experience to supervise and co-ordinate fellow staff members and liaise with the client.

Hotel Bar
Basic bar work, beer, wine and spirits, open wine bottles, can use a cash register and handle money.

Cocktail Bar
Multi-skilled bar person, can mix fancy cocktails comprising of multiple spirits.

Café Waiter
Table service, setting up and clearing, dispensing drinks and filling orders, not all Café waiters can make espresso coffees; this should be specified at the time of booking.

Barista
Preparing a range of espresso coffees, texturing milk, workflow for multiple orders, preparing cappuccinos, café lattes, macchiato etc.


KITCHEN STAFF

Kitchen Hand
Wash up, loading and unloading of an industrial dishwasher. Familiar with kitchen procedures in commercial kitchens. May have basic food preparation skills.

Salad Hand
Basic food preparation, knife skills, preparation of salads, vegetables, etc under the supervision of a Chef or Supervisor, and plating of food.

Canteen Assistant
Basic food preparation skills, making sandwiches, setting up salad bars, using a meat slicer, counter service, able to operate a cash-register, and may have coffee machine experience.

Counter Hand
Serving customers, using a cash register, basic food preparation, making gourmet sandwiches to order, and may have coffee making experience.

Chefs
Full Chef qualifications with varied experience.

Chef Manager
Fully qualified, experienced in 1st Chef Position, ordering, stock control, and budgeting, co-coordinating staff, takes initiative, familiar with opening and closing procedures.
